FEATHER HOUSE is the musical home of Singer-Songwriter Pete Guy that brings his songwriting and musical collaborations all together under one roof.
The Pete Guy / FEATHER HOUSE track Sunken Ship (Held Beneath The Waves) was played on BBC 6 Music on the BBC Introducing Mixtape with Tom Robinson on 13/03/2017 who said of the track “…It has a lyric every bit as mysterious as it’s title and it’s one that I personally found deeply affecting.” It received a second BBC 6 Music play on 01/04/2017 on The Tom Robinson Show.
On 14th September 2018 Pete Guy released the FEATHER HOUSE EP Beneath The Branches consisting of the songs 1. Swim (Deeper Down), 2. Beneath The Branches, 3. Light As A Feather… The three track EP was Produced by Nick Kozuch and recorded at Unit Studios in Letchworth Garden City – UK…
“Each song has it’s own photograph / artwork and the one for the opening track – Swim (Deeper Down) – is of a necklace that I designed and had made a few years ago at a Festival that features a Humpback Whale surrounded by waves. It was hand crafted out of an old coin…
On these new recordings I was wanting to create a BIG sound and I’m really pleased with how the songs have turned out – they’re somewhat of a departure from anything else I’ve released before… Track one – Swim (Deeper Down) – was lyrically inspired by one of my favourite films – Whale Rider – a story about a Maori Tribe in New Zealand faced with breaking free from tradition in order to move forward and survive…” – Pete Guy / FEATHER HOUSE
Mike Naylor from BBC Three Counties Radio said of the EP “…this is a departure for you and I really like the big sound – full of good melody, good playing and good production – excellent!”
